Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 6, 2026
1. Introduction
Solo Pixels ("we," "us," or "our") operates Liquid Timer (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and what choices you have.
This policy covers the Liquid Timer mobile application for iOS and Android, and any accompanying web version.
You can contact us at: support@solo-pixels.com
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
Liquid Timer does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use the App. There is no registration, login, email collection, or profile creation.
If you contact us for support, we may receive your name, email address, and the content of your message.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the App, the following information is collected automatically through analytics tools:
Usage events. We collect anonymous events about how the App is used, including:
- timer started, paused, completed, and reset events
- timer mode (Timer or Pomodoro)
- timer duration and time remaining at pause
- settings changes (duration, text size, mascot jump intensity)
- screen views and touch interactions (via auto-capture)
Device and technical information. Our analytics tools may automatically collect:
- device type and model
- operating system and version
- app version
- language and region settings
- screen resolution
- a randomly generated anonymous device identifier (not tied to your identity or any account)
2.3 Information We Do Not Collect
Liquid Timer does not collect:
- your name, email address, or any personal identifiers (unless you contact support)
- location data
- contacts, photos, or calendar data
- browsing history
- microphone or camera input
- payment or financial information (the App is free with no in-app purchases)
- health or biometric data
3. How We Use Information
We use the information collected to:
- Understand how the App is used. We analyze anonymous usage events to learn which features are used, how sessions are structured, and where users encounter friction. This helps us improve the App.
- Identify and fix bugs. Device and technical information helps us diagnose issues across different devices and OS versions.
- Respond to support requests. If you contact us, we use your message and contact information to respond.
We do not use collected information for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.
4. How the App Works: Local-Only Data
All of your personal settings and preferences are stored only on your device using local storage. This includes:
- timer duration
- selected theme (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, or Water)
- selected language (English, Vietnamese, or Chinese)
- selected mascot
- text size, mascot jump intensity
- vibration, sound, and music preferences
- custom alarm sound and background music file paths
- timer mode (Timer or Pomodoro)
This data is never sent to our servers or any third party. It stays on your device and is removed when you uninstall the App.
There are no user accounts, no cloud sync, and no server-side storage of your preferences or timer history.
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party analytics services:
PostHog
PostHog receives anonymous usage events and device information as described in Section 2.2. PostHog processes this data on our behalf to provide analytics dashboards and insights.
PostHog's privacy policy: https://posthog.com/privacy
Amplitude
Amplitude receives the same categories of anonymous usage events and device information. Amplitude processes this data on our behalf for product analytics.
Amplitude's privacy policy: https://amplitude.com/privacy
Both services receive anonymous, non-identified data. We do not send names, email addresses, or any information that directly identifies you to these services.
Expo / React Native
The App is built with Expo and React Native. These frameworks may collect limited crash and diagnostic data as part of standard operation. This data does not include personal information.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your information.
We share data only with:
- Analytics providers (PostHog and Amplitude) as described above, to understand App usage and improve the product.
- Law enforcement or legal authorities, only if required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or enforceable governmental request.
7. Data Retention
- Analytics data is retained by our analytics providers according to their standard retention policies. We do not retain analytics data indefinitely and periodically review retention settings.
- Local device data (your settings and preferences) persists on your device until you uninstall the App or clear the App's data.
- Support communications, if any, are retained as long as needed to resolve your inquiry and for reasonable record-keeping.
8. Data Transfers
Our analytics providers may process data in countries other than your own. PostHog and Amplitude maintain their own data protection practices and safeguards for international transfers. Please refer to their respective privacy policies for details.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Analytics opt-out
Because the App does not collect personal identifiers, analytics data cannot be linked back to you individually. If you prefer not to send any analytics data, you may:
- Disable the App's network access in your device settings
- Uninstall the App
Local data
You control all local data. You can:
- Change any setting at any time within the App
- Uninstall the App to remove all locally stored data
Data access, correction, and deletion
Because we do not collect personal information or maintain user accounts, we do not hold identifiable data that we can look up, correct, or delete on a per-user basis.
If you have contacted us for support and wish to have your support communication deleted, please email us and we will process your request.
Rights under applicable law
If you are located in a jurisdiction that grants specific privacy rights (such as the EU/EEA under GDPR, or California under CCPA), you may exercise those rights by contacting us. We will respond to verified requests in accordance with applicable law.
10. Children's Privacy
Liquid Timer is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the App does not collect personal information from any user, no age-gated data collection occurs.
Parents may allow children to use the App. All data remains on the device and no personal information is transmitted.
11. Permissions
Liquid Timer may request or use the following device capabilities:
- Screen wake lock — to keep the screen on during an active timer session.
- Audio playback — to play alarm sounds and background music.
- File access (document picker) — only when you choose to import a custom alarm sound or background music file from your device. Files are accessed locally and are not uploaded anywhere.
- Vibration / haptics — to provide haptic feedback when the timer completes.
The App does not request access to your camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, or photos.
12. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information processed through our analytics providers, including using HTTPS for data transmission. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your local settings data is stored using standard device storage and is protected by your device's own security measures (passcode, biometrics, encryption).
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this document and, where practical, provide notice through the App or our app store listing.
Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
